It's finally official! Googles data is no longer being used in Yahoo! searches. Yahoo! is now using it's own Inktomi data.
Yahoo! will index the full text of a webpage, up to 500k, where as Google only does 101k. Like Google, their searches will include PDF documents and MS Office documents. Inktomi does index metatags although it is uncertain how important this is in their rankings.
It is expected that Yahoo! will eventually merge data from AltaVista and AlltheWeb, both owned by Yahoo!. Non-US Yahoo! sites will be switching in the next few weeks.
