Anti-Spam Efforts on Major Blogs

Primarily a Google initiative, a number of blogging companies have announce the use of a new tag to cut down on spamming in blogs. There are a number of unscrupulous companies using blogs to post links to their website. These postings are generated by software instead of a real person and as such, defeat the real purpose of a blog. To stop this type of activity, a new html tag (rel="nofollow") is being used automatically in blogs. This means that submitting content to blogs will probably not help your search rankings but having your own blog with templated links to your site will still benefit you.
