Got Coupons? Post Them!

There are a number of coupon sites on the Internet. Just do a search on your favorite search engine and you’ll be blasted with results. Many of those results will be like this site….a listing of coupons from various manufacturers. Am I helping you shop? Well, you can, but the point on this blog is to suggest that you list your coupons on these sites. If you have an ecommerce store and you offer discounts using coupon codes, why not create a special coupon code and list it on these sites? By having a unique coupon code for each site, you can track which ones are working for you. This particular coupon site is only one example…

Learn to Spell your Way to Rankings

This post is a gripe as well as a valuable tip. If you are going to post in forums, blogs, etc. in an effort to set yourself up as a professional in your field, learn to spell. While you are at it, learn grammar skills as well. Now I won’t boast that this blog is perfect, but when I see someone who professes to be an SEO or SEM professional makin posts that loook like there not payin atttension, eye has to wunder i meen reelly….get a clue and lern to spel sew pepel dont have to pay such close attension to what you are trying to say.

Did I make my point? I just left a forum that is suppose to be for SEO professionals. Sorry, but you just lost my vote as any kind of professional organization if you allow posts like that to remain. It not only reflects on the people posting, but also makes the forum look unprofessional. Who wants to take advice from a service that attracts total idjuts?

Should You Install IE7 ?

Drum roll please! Is installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 a good idea? Here’s a link to an article that says plainly, NO! I’ve trusted Peter McDonell’s advice before and haven’t been steered wrong. I’ll trust him again and not waste my time on this release from MS. Do read the article. It does have information on blocking the auto download of IE7.

Web Optimizer from Google

While it is an obvious tool that nets Google more money, it turns out the Optimizer from Google is actually a very useful tool. It allows you to analyze traffic for search phrases and advertisements on Google’s AdWords program. A money maker for them that can also help your ad campaigns become more successful. A win-win scenario. It is receiving general praise from many, but as with all tools, get to know it well and remember that it’s beta and not flawless.

Microsoft’s New LinkFromDomain

Microsoft has added a new operator in their search engine called “LinkFromDomain”. Use this in your search to determine what a site is linking to. There are many ways to see incoming links for a site; this tool does the reverse.  Very helpful resource Mr. Gates.
