SEO Investion or Why I am Broke

Ok, I’m not really broke, but after reading this article, I realize I’m probably not charging enough for the services I offer. For my customers reading this blog, you should really read this article to realize what a bargain you are getting. I do offer advanced services such as mentioned in this article for more money, but he is correct. It is time consuming to fully market at site and I too sub items out that one person can’t do. Of course my basic plan customers are not fully marketed as this author describes, but then at thousands of dollars per month, I’ll bet they are glad they are not. Better a little basic marketing than none at all. I’ll continue to offer a basic package for the wonderful people who have helped me get started in this fascinating SEO world. (For those who are curious, I’ve been search marketing ever since I had my first high speed 2400 baud modem. Damn! I’m old.)

Google’s Writely and Spreadsheet program are combined! You can bring exisiting documents together into one roof for both programs. Why is this entry in a search blog? Because you can also export pages as HTML or to your blog. Where this is Google creating the HTML, we would hope the results are search friendly….and of course blogging is a good thing as well. Give it a try. It might be addicting.

Yawn. Yahoo! Updates. Zzzzz

In what should have been a media parade, the net is mostly silent about the Yahoo! update. Yahoo! has been losing steam and market share for some time. The only news about Yahoo! is the fact that no one is talking about them except the NY Times who is totally bashing them.

Yahoo! has had some great releases and events this year, but they seem to pale to Google who is now really at the top of the heap.

Developers, Start Your Code Search

Public source code (at least we hope it’s suppose to be public) is searchable using Google’s Code Search. Grab any section of code you are having difficulty with and find someone using it in their code and voilla, you’ve got some programming examples. Of course no one says it’s good code or even functional, but you’ve got code. We are looking for some savy programmers to take advantage of this using Google’s API.

ESPN Mobile Pulls the Plug

Mobile Internet and sports fans apparently don’t mix. Disney will be discontinuing mobile ESPN sports services the end of this year. Personally, I can’t imagine being so hooked on anything that you need to view it on a mobile device. Apparently many other people have a life as well.

The new Panama ad platform from Yahoo! is summed up to five brief points at the link below. Confused about the new update? Don’t panic….they are five very brief points with no real suprises. In fact, it rings a bit like a thing called AdWords.
