Walk Like a Man, Talk Like a Man, Think Like an Engineer
Here’s a good review article about thinking like a search engineer. Constantly being in the search arena, you do have to step back and think like the engineers that put it all together. All too often people do have one focus and it’s good to step back on put on just one person’s hat. Although it raises a few good points, my biggest issue is still getting people who create the site content to think like their site visitors. Quality content is still king.

The most important things to remember about blogs is plan ahead and host on your own domain. In planning, create about 10-15 articles in advance before you decide how it will look. As for your own domain, you want control over it.

Firefox vs Microsoft Site Compatibility
Not really a suprise, but I’ve just noticed that you cannot use many of the links on the MSN home page if you are using Firefox. I have the latest of both Firefox and IE running on XP Pro. This should bother a number of people. What’s next? Will content in their search engine be blocked because of a person’s choice of browser. Microsoft…get a clue…this is a great way to lose the search engine war. One would hope they fix it. If it’s just a Windows bug, then it still has the same effect.

Google Analytics Down…Along With Finance
Google Analytics and Finance pages were down. A number of Google services have blacked out over the past few weeks. Perhaps there are a number of changes going on and these are glitches that we see, but it can be irritating when you are trying to accomplish something.
