People Prefer Informational Videos
Although it’s no surprise that people want shorter commercials, you might be surprised to learn that the majority of people watching videos online watch news clips. Not only that, but it’s up by 8% from this same time last year. Take a look at the summary of AOL’s Advertising.com survey to learn more. Have you produced an informational video about your company?
Google Allowed Site Feature Removed
Google has temporarily pulled the feature where you can list allowed sites for your AdSense ads. They have assured everyone that they will bring the feature back online shortly. Pretend it never happened. Your settings are most likely lost.

Allowed Domains in Google Adsense
Your Google AdSense account now allows you to specify which domains can display ads from your account. This should help prevent abuse where a person steals your ads with your publisher ID on them. Often this resulted in having your account banned for invalid clicks. If you are using AdSense, log in an take advantage of this new feature.
Google Maps Easier to Embed on Your Site
Google has finally made it easier to embed Google Maps on your web page. A bit behind the eight ball, but it’s finally here. Personally I use MapQuest as their maps seem to be more accurate for the addresses I’ve developed for and MapQuest has had this feature for a long time now. If Google gives you more accurate results than others, it’s now easier to use…..just copy and paste the code.
View the Night Sky From Anywhere
Google Earth lets you roam the world searching any part of the globe. While this downward view is fine for most, some may want to look up at the sky above. You now can do just that using the new Google Earth 4.2. Pick any location on the globe and see what the sky looks like there. A cute gimick to spice up your site. A bed and breakfast can show the romantic sky above their inn. Real estate, tourist attractions….there must be other fun applications for this also.

Which Search Engine Rate’s Best on Privacy?
CNET News did a survey on privacy for major search engines. This includes storing your IP address, cookies and/or the queries you type. To make a long article short, Ask came out on top. Why is privacy important? Because of the potential for abuse would be my first, off the cuff response. If ultimate power ultimately corrupts, what does ultimate information do? Already we’ve seen court cases where search engine data was used as evidence against the accused? Has that information already been abused to convict innocent people? How else could it potentially be abused.
