MSN Live Penalizing Back-Linking

Is MSN being too heavy handed in penalizing for back-linking? Back-linking is rapidly building unrelated links to your site. Typically this is done through link-swapping software and other techniques frowned on by every reliable search engine. MSN is penalizing not only the offending site, but also every site on the IP address. This means if you are sharing an IP address with someone else, their actions could result in your being banned. Contact your hosting company to make certain you have your own IP address and upgrade to a service that allows you to have your own.
