MySpace Protection ..But Where Are The Parents?

MySpace is instituting a number of items designed to help protect under 18 users of MySpace. This is after parents have sued them because their under age daughters were targets of preditors. The question that should be raised is where are the parents? Shouldn’t they be involved in what their children do online? Shouldn’t they have instructed their children in proper online usage? With all the monitoring and safety tools available, where was their action to protect their children? I do think MySpace should do what is reasonable to protect their users, but there is no protection against stupidity. If you are talking online and a stranger wants to meet you in person, shouldn’t that send off alarms? Like don’t meet them alone in a private place? I don’t know all the details, but it is questions like these that never seem to be answered or asked by articles like this one….
